Educational AI Pilot for Irish Classrooms across 48 Irish Schools to Integrate Merlyn Mind AI Assistant into Classrooms.
A pioneering educational AI pilot is set to transform the classroom experience for students and educators alike, as 300 teachers across 48 schools in Ireland will integrate the Merlyn Origin AI assistant into their teaching practices. The innovative pilot, the largest of it kind ever conducted outside of North America, has this week been rolled out in 19 post-primary schools and 29 primary schools nationwide, including a number of Association of Community and Comprehensive Schools (ACCS).
This expansion follows the success of the initial pilot at Mullingar Community College, a post-primary school under the administration of Longford and Westmeath Education and Training Board (LWETB), which became the first school outside of the United States to introduce Merlyn Mind’s revolutionary AI technology. The pilot aims to further elevate the standard of education in Ireland, providing a personalised, dynamic, and interactive learning environment powered by artificial intelligence.
The Merlyn Origin AI assistant has been designed to support educators by streamlining the administrative and repetitive aspects of teaching. By leveraging generative AI, the system enables teachers to create lesson plans, generate grading rubrics and acquire instant feedback from their students with the push of a button. It also offers unique voice-controlled technology that allows teachers to operate classroom devices—from computers to front-of-class displays—entirely hands-free, freeing them up to focus on engaging directly with students.

The pilot will involve 300 teachers across 48 schools, ensuring that students in diverse educational settings—from primary schools to post-primary institutions—experience the benefits of Merlyn Mind’s AI technology. The integration of AI into classrooms will not only improve operational efficiency but also provide students with a more personalised and engaging learning experience.
